Fun With Math

Welcome to third grade!

Norton Schedule: Click Here

Our class is made up of 20 students. We have 10 girls and 10 boys. As third graders, we will be learning different reading strategies to help us become stronger readers. My goal this year is to get every student to fall in love with reading. Therefore, it is very important that students read 20 minutes every night. Reading with parents is a great way to spend this time!

There are numerous math resources on our school website that have great ideas to help increase computational fluency. We try to spend at least 15 minutes per day practicing our facts. Any additional practice at home would be very beneficial.

We will be writing and publishing many stories in preparation for Celebration of Writers week later on this year. There are also many exciting topics that we will be learning in both Science and Social Studies. In Science, we will cover rocks & minerals, motion & design and ideas & inventions. Our units in Social Studies include learning about maps and studying the countries of Kenya and Japan.

Every child learns differently, therefore it is imperative that each child gets the services that they need to succeed as a learner. In my classroom they will be constantly motivated and excited to learn, because learning is FUN!

It is important to me to foster a strong home-school partnership. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. Check back periodically to view information updates and pictures of your child at work!
