41. Wake Cabigon Up They arrive at a village, all hungry, though they don't have enough food in it.
An old man treats them to nice lunch, and explains that the river through the village
has run dry, which caused a very bad harvest. Satoshi and his friends decide to help
villagers. They go up the river to find Cabigon, a hugest monster that they have ever
found, sleeping at the mouth of the river to dam the stream. They try different ways
to wake him up, but in vain. And, he weighs 450 kilograms, too heavy to be moved by
them. Finally they find only a Pockemon oboe can wake him. They successfully pull him
out sleep by the Oboe.
42. A conflict In Dark city Pikchu finds catsup as his favorite. The vessel in his arms, he smiles,
satisfied, and carries it with himself. However, it is cut by a sharp blade of Strike,
a strong monster owned by a trainer of the Yasu gym! A couple of gyms are there in the
city, with trainers from them contending to defeat each other. Their battles frighten
the residents, and now involve Satoshi, Pikachu, and their friends. It was hard to see
for me when, the upper part of the vessel which had been cut in his arms, Pikachu was
crestfallen. Tears still filled his eyes after a while of that! He should have been
given a new one, I thought. But I was glad to have seen Pikachu seemed to forget that
later, eager to punish savage trainers.
43. Nassy Marching Pikachu and Kasumi decide to help Maggy, a magician with poor guts, with the help of
Satoshi, at a theme park. The magician owns Tamatamas, egg-like monsters, who would
transform to Nassies. He exert cunning to get Nassies in a forest, later noting their
major ability is hypnotism. They accidently hypnotize each other and are confused.
They rushed toward the park, half ruining it. Asked by Satoshi, Hitokage fights to
hold them. When Nassies recover, Hitokage finds himself transform to Lizard.
44. Parase and Parasect Nyase loves a cute girl Kiyomi, a trainer of Parase, a monster with mushrooms on the
back (a human being!). Her Parase is cowardly, reluctant to battle, which prevents
him from transforming to Parasect. Nyase exerts a strategy to help him to transform,
in hope of being with Kiyomi. He can succeeds, but Kiyomi tells him to leave, because
she thinks he has an ambition to be achieved.
45. Purin's song Purin is a ballon-like monster, making people and other creatures sleep by singing.
(Her pink round figure attracts thousands of fans.) She is not satisfied, because no
one hears her song finished. Satoshi and his friends, help her fullfill her hope,
take her to a town where its residents make merry at the cost of good sleep. However,
her ability is strong, and no one is awake when she is aware. Disappointed, she
scribbles on their faces (!), and leaves.
46. Ancient Monsters Bombs the Rocket gang set in Granpa canyon. Satoshi and his friends find it, astonished,
because they learned hudreds of trainers are there for fossils of ancient monsters.
They immediately scatters, Satoshi and Pikachu obstructing the gang, Kasumi and Takeshi
calling trainers. Nyase ignites the fuse as Satoshi and Pikachu approach the gang.
After a skirmish, panicked, Pikachu shoots an electric beam at dynamite. They turn pale,
freezing, including Pikachu. Big explosion is bursts, and they fall into a crack which
was made by it. When they are aware, they find them locked in a cave. (An amusing scene.
Kojiro gives a nihilistic grin, saying, 'We're hopeless.') Then an additional impact
shocks them. They see ancient monsters, reportedly extinct speies, right before their
eyes. A frenzied Ptera captures Satoshi and flies through the crack. Pikachu and
Lizard chase, the former trying to save Satoshi, and the latter wanting fight Ptera.
During the battle, Lizard transforms into Lizardon, to Satoshi's big joy. But Lizardon,
ignoring Satoshi, flies after Ptera to fight him. Purin appears then, and sings, again
her song making people and monsters in the canyon sleep, and saving Satoshi. The story
on the day ended with their all being happy, except the Rocket gang, still left in the
cave.
47. Luckies' Kartes Satoshi finds Pikachu's voice chokes, roughly guessing something stuck in his throat.
Panicked, he is going to a POKEMON center, but there is any one around there. So he
takes Pikachu to a hospital. Doc, a doctor, sees Pikachu there, pulling a substance out
of his throat. It is an apple, rind and all! When Pikachu recovers, a traffic accident
which involved dozens of monsters, including Nyase and other monsters of the Rocket gang
is reported, and Luckies, nurse monsters, take some of patients to the hospital. Satoshi
and his friends help Doc see them. The Rocket gang also offer a helping hand, but later
try to capture injured monsters, as their ones are reluctant to obey them. Their monsters
thank Doc and Satoshi and his friends for taking care of them. The gang have to escape
this time, too.
48. Kojiro and Flame Revealed was the fact that Kojiro of the Rocket gang is from quite a wealthy family.
He left home, disliking the life in the upper classes (how many years he had been away
from home was not mentioned). Satoshi and his friends, and the gang learn that his
parents died that day they entered his hometown, leaving a will that he can inherit
their property if he gets married to Rumika, his fiancee, within 24 hours from thier
death time. In hope of getting the fortune, Musashi and Meowth (Nyase in Japan) take
Kojiro back home, then find that they were trapped by his parents, who are alive in
reality. And, furthermore, his fiancee, dead ringer for Musashi, has an evil heart.
She sticks at nothing to get Kojiro hers. He is scared, knowing what to do, as his
old friend Flame, whom he had when he was home, comes and saves him. Kojiro askes him
to take care of his awkward parents, and goes back to Musashi and Meowth, realizing
they are free, though badly off.
49. Farfetch'd Kasumi has her knapsack in which her monster balls are stolen by a boy Keita who takes
Farfetch'd, a wild-duck monster. Her Psyduck, a domestic-duck monster, successfully
escapes and comes back to see her. She pursues him as she needs to trace the theft,
but it seems to be hard for the easygoing monster to remember the path he has escaped.
Urged by his irriated trainer, he manages to guide her and her friends to the spot
Keita is. Kasumi sets Psyduck on Farfetch'd as Keita is ready to escape. Psyduck
is always suffered from a headache, and uses supernatural power if he has a racking one.
Beaten on the head by Farfetch'd, he let himself use the power and defeats Farfetch'd.
But Keita is moved, having seen his Farfetch'd faught with all his might during the
battle.Keita hands all monster balls he stole to a female police officer.
50. Togepi! The egg which Satoshi found and picked in the Grandpa canyon in the episode 46 is the
concern of his and his friends, though they don't know which monster will be borne
from it. When they can hardly wait, the Rocket gang steals it. Meowth takes great care
of it, thinking himself its parent. The kids team finally finds them in a hut in a
forest, and tries to take the egg back. During the battle, a cute monster, Togepi
hatched out in Kasumi's arms. Attracted by him, every one wants him to get his or hers,
and they decide to have a tournament. Satoshi wins it, but Togepi takes to Kasumi.
They finally learn that Togepies would be imprinted that the creatures they see the
first time in the life are their parents. Togepi has gotten hers.
