Mill Pond Falls

Mill Pond Falls 1
The waterfall was a good source of energy.  A sawmill was built at the falls in 1680.  Men called Pipers walked over Cedar Mountain to cut down trees which would be made into large wooden barrels called pipes.  Pipes were used to hold supplies such as molasses, rum, flour, or sugar.  Today the falls are the central feature of Mill Pond Park.  Mill Pond falls are pictured on the town seal and are frequented by nature lovers, picnickers, dog walkers, families, and wedding parties.
